GATHERING OF NATIVE AMERICANS (GONA)

Provided by Southern Plains Tribal Health Board SPF-Rx Project, in collaboration with Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Department of Health and Partnership for Success

 

Audience: This training is open to all adult community members in the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribal Region, as well as neighboring communities.

Description: This GONA is a 3-day training experience facilitated by Native Wellness Institute to offer hope, encouragement and a positive basis for Native community action. GONA provides Native communities with a framework to examine historical trauma and its impact on alcohol, substance misuse, and other debilitating conditions and issues today. The training experience will emphasize community empowerment and present a prevention strategy framework that is based on values inherent to traditional Native cultures, such as belonging, mastery, interdependence, and generosity.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided each day, sponsored by Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Department of Health and Tradition Not Addiction.

Registration Deadline: Attendance is limited to 75 people and registration is required. Please register by 5:00 PM on January 8.
